What is Holistic Nutrition?

When you choose to live your life in a holistic manner:

You understand that your body is interconnected and works as a whole. You take into consideration that your lifestyle factors intertwine together such as food consumption, activity, psychological and social factors. By doing so, you are be able to better understand your own body's signals and some of the imbalances that you may become more mindful of.

A few key aspects include the digestion, absorption and assimilation of nutrients. True health starts in the gut. You can eat kale and spinach until your heart’s desire, but if your body cannot fully absorb or utilize the nutrients in the food; then this can cause nutrient deficiencies and other imbalances in the body.

Everyone as biologically different - what may be good for some, isn’t right for others. This is why there is so much contradicting dietary information available. It can be a daunting process trying to determine who to listen to, or trust. It can be downright discouraging. What foods to eat and what foods to avoid? Since the basis of holistic nutrition takes into account the bio-individuality, it is important to have clarity on the root of your body's health imbalances first, and then apply a personalized action plan catered to your needs.
